| OUT OUR
BACK DOOR
Nevada is a stark beauty. Since we moved from the lush green of California, it has been an adjustment, but not a very long one. There is a stark beauty, such a view. You can see the skies for miles. The storms come and go as you watch. The lumps in the snow are our wonderful sagebrush. The hill behind us used to be heavily covered with vegetation, but after the fire (see the fire) from years ago the snow covers at a more even thickness. We should have a profusion of wildflowers this spring. No we don't have trees, we planted some, but the rabbits, the severe weather and the munching dogs did them in. Someday we will plant those trees again, but never in the way of our view. The pictures are taken from west to north. The lattice wood frame is a coverage for the propane tank. We planted greenery there too, but alas it ended up being a favorite play ground of the dogs, the ground squirrels and other desert critters, it too will someday be planted one more time, and behind a fence.
