THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE HOME PAGE                THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM

I am a firm believer that when our pets leave for the Rainbow Bridge, they don't leave without imprinting our hearts with their paw prints.

A little reminder that they were here, and stayed an all too short length of time, but they will be waiting at the Bridge when we pick them up on our way to Heaven.

They never loose our love and are forever in our hearts.

WE STILL HEAR THEM

Pueblo Indian Poem

A long time I have lived with you
And now we must be going
Separately to be together.
Perhaps I shall be the wind
To blur your smooth waters
So that you do not see your face too much.
Perhaps I shall be the star
To guide your uncertain wings
So that you have direction in the night.
Perhaps I shall be the fire
To separate your thoughts
So that you do not give up.
Perhaps I shall be the rain
To open up the earth
So that your seed may fall.
Perhaps I shall be the snow
To let your blossoms sleep
So that you may bloom in spring.
Perhaps I shall be the stream
To play a song on the rock
So that you are not alone.
Perhaps I shall be a new mountain
So that you always have a home.

What a wonderful promise she was to us, Pyrometra took her productivity, but not her love and her special "question mark" wiggle.  Laps were a favorite place for her.

AKC Ch Firethornes Nip-N-Tuck X Carolina's Wishes Do Come True

1994 - 2007

Eve was the foundation bitch for our new line and she did not let us down.  With her first litter she produced AKC Ch Megabucks Just Dealin Diamonds "Liz".  Liz started and finished her career with 7 BOB and 7 Group placements.  Eve is also the mother of our "Chia".  She is now as active as ever and loves to get lost on the property looking for rabbits.  She now has selective hearing, but can keep up with the young kids when letting the dogs across the street know they are getting too close for her comfort.  All this through a five foot no climb fence.

Eve did not have the best conformation right now, she was one week away from having 9 puppies.  Actually she looks pretty good to me!

Las Rocosa Hunter "Hunt"

Las Rocosa Rejoneador x Wolfen of Windsor

April 11, 1994 - June 30, 2008

Hunter, what can I say.  He is a prick eared character with a small man's attitude.  If you put him in the CJ7 and left him there for the rest of his life, he would think he had died and gone to Heaven.  He LOVES to go Jeeping in the desert.  He is also the best puppy babysitter I have ever had, he thinks all puppies were put on earth just for HIM.

With age Hunter has become the "Grouchy Old Man".  He growls at everything and everyone.  He is a very small male and his attitude can hold off three large males in the Laundry Room.  He is liked by none of the other dogs, but loved by us.  He just has a bit of an attitude that is all his.

My HEART DOG.  What a beauty, so quick with the ball or the frisbee.  If he could pick his own special day it would be playing fetch and ball all day long.  His favorite is to bring me the current fetch object and set it 'just a little bit too far away for me to reach it'.  I tell him "I can't reach it", then he will pick it up and hand it to me.  He also is a soul comforting dog.  When you have a bad day, he will lay close and just rest a part of him next to you and let his energy flow into you.  When I had my back surgery, he was my "blankee", I love this dog with all my heart, only Willy even comes close to the wonder and love I feel for my boy Ty.

Tyler is now aging and likes to go outside, take a couple of laps around the house, then come into the house again and grab a corner of the couch and snooze for a while to regain his energy.  Tyler has severe thyroid problems and it makes his coat so hard to manage.  He was only bred once and he passed his autoimmune problem onto his son Rustler.

Fantasia's Being In Da Gold "Chia"

AKC/ASCA CH Fantasia's Kaliedscope X Firethornes Gold Bearer

January 27, 1997 - August 28, 2009

Chia has been an integral part of our breeding program for several.  She came to us as a two year old, tore a CCL that never healed right.  She also came with two Reserves and was going to be our GREAT Show Bitch.  Alas that did not happen, but she has become our heart and the warm dog on our laps while we watch TV.

She was retired from breeding upon reaching her 8th birthday.  Her future is that of a loved house dog, and the mother of many of our babies.

She is just a very lovely girl that gave us very lovely babies, and all her love too!
