Eve's Story

On Monday night, February 19, 2007; Firethornes Gold Bearer "Eve" passed to the Rainbow Bridge. She never won a ribbon or had any letters in front or behind
of her name, but she had a strong boned, structurally correct body
that she passed on to her offspring.

Her first litter provided us with Ch Megabucks Just Dealin Diamonds
"Liz". Liz went on to 7 BOB and 7 Group placements along with an
International title at 8 months, she was BOP in show.

Eve was also the grandmother of Ch Los Carneros Wins Megabucks
"Boomer" and the soon to return to showing Megabucks Mad About Red
"Maddie". Maddie has several reserves as a much younger bitch. She
is now four and will be bred for a litter this year.

Eve came to us at 4 years of age from a barely reputable kennel. She
had produced one litter and after that she was kept in the basement in
a 300 kennel, one size too small for her. There is no way I could
leave her behind. She became part of our family and became our best
"wabbit" hunter. She always brought us the spoils. I will always
picture her being the last in the house after exercise, always keeping
her ears and eyes open for that last prey. She will be sorely missed.

Eve spent the last two days of her life in a kennel at our feet,
constantly talked to and given food and water by hand. She weakened
 fast and went softly.

This is our tribute to a great lady that just wanted to be loved and
part of the house. She didn't need to offer any more, she gave all
she could clear to the end.
